Say No to Polyethene: An Inspiring Initiative by SWEAR

In a commendable initiative towards environmental conservation, Delhi Public School, Raipur organized a community outreach programme titled "Say No to Polythene" under the banner of the school's NGO, SWEAR, on 3rd November 2025. The activity was conducted in the busy market area of Nardaha village, where students and teachers actively interacted with shopkeepers and local residents.

The primary objective of the drive was to create awareness about the harmful effects of polythene on the environment and to encourage the use of eco-friendly alternatives. To spread this message effectively, students of Class VIII prepared and distributed beautifully crafted cloth bags to the villagers and shopkeepers. The recipients greatly appreciated the effort, acknowledging the importance of switching to sustainable options.

The students also spoke about the significance of using paper bags, jute bags and cloth bags as responsible alternatives to plastic. Their enthusiastic participation reflected a strong sense of social responsibility and environmental awareness.

This noble attempt not only educated the community but also inspired many to take a pledge to reduce plastic usage. DPS Raipur continues to promote environmental consciousness and responsible citizenship among its students through such purposeful initiatives.
